My first ever introduction to 3D tracking!
This second year project helped to teach me the fundamentals of simple 2D tracking and using 3D geometry tracking via a model of the actors head (Jake Bowdidge). The model didn't exactly match Jakes head which resulted in poor track in some shots. However, if done again I would approach it via a 3D scan which would most likely give a better result.
The helmet was modelled and rendered in Maya and compositied in After Effects along with the cleanup of the briefcase and insertion of the text.
